AppsAnywhere includes an integration with Canvas that allows an instructor to select specific applications that students may need for their class and display them inside of Canvas.
To use this integration, first make sure the AppsAnywhere page is enabled in your Canvas course. To do this, go to your course Settings then open the Navigation tab. Check to see if the AppsAnywhere page is enabled. If it is not, drag it up the list so it is no longer hidden.
Now that you have enabled the AppsAnywhere integration in your course, you should see AppsAnywhere visible in the sidebar. Click on it to configure the integration.
You should see a screen letting you know that there is no app list associated with your course, along with a button asking you to associate an app list. Click the button.
If you have already created an app list in AppsAnywhere, you will see it displayed in this window. If not, you will be able to create a new app list.
Clicking “Create a new list” will open a new tab with AppsAnywhere, and walk you through the app list creation. For the list name, try to use something that is recognizable, especially if you have multiple courses. For this example, I will use the fictional course “ART1111 – Section 103 – Intro to Digital Media”.
After the app list is created, you need to associate applications with the list. To do this, click the “Edit list” button.
Now you can search for applications to add to your list. For this example, I will add a few applications related to digital media.
Now that you’ve added the applications to the app list, they will appear in Canvas when students go to the AppsAnywhere page. Before closing this page, you may also click the “Share list” button to copy a link that you can put in your syllabus or elsewhere that students can use to add this list to their AppsAnywhere page.
