For Managed Campus Devices
Updates to AppsAnywhere and Cloudpaging Player are managed by S&T IT. If you suspect that you need to update your clients, please contact the IT Help Desk for assistance.
For BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) / Personal Devices
BYOD users should receive updates through the Auto Updater included with AppsAnywhere. If you are unable to use the Auto Updater or are experiencing issues with it, you may manually update AppsAnywhere and Cloudpaging Player by following these instructions. These instructions may get a bit technical. If you are not comfortable following these instructions by yourself, please reach out to the IT Help Desk for assistance.
1. Uninstall AppsAnywhere and Cloudpaging Player
- Open the start menu and search for “Add or Remove Programs”.
- Search for the AppsAnywhere application and click the three dots on the far right.
- Select Uninstall from that menu, then confirm by selecting Uninstall again.
- Provide the credentials to your admin account if prompted.
- The uninstaller may prompt you to close certain applications before continuing, ensure “Automatically close applications and attempt to restart them after setup is complete.” is selected.
- Wait for the uninstaller to close before proceeding.
- After AppsAnywhere is uninstalled, you will need to exit Cloudpaging Player.
- Go to your Icons tray at the bottom right of your screen.
- Find the Cloudpaging Player icon, you may need to click the ^ button to expand the list.
- Right click on the Cloudpaging Player icon and click Exit.
- Go back to the “Add or Remove Programs” window from earlier and search for Cloudpaging Player.
- Like before, click the three dots, then Uninstall, then Uninstall again.
- You will get prompted that your machine will be required to reboot after the uninstall. Click OK.
- Enter your admin credentials if prompted.
- After the uninstall you will be prompted to reboot. Save your work and close other applications then click Yes.
2. Reboot your computer
Rebooting your computer after uninstalling AppsAnywhere and Cloudpaging Player is not optional.
Failure to reboot your computer prior to re-installing AppsAnywhere and Cloudpaging Player will result in a corrupted installation and require assistance from the IT Help Desk.
3. Install AppsAnywhere and Cloudpaging Player
- Open your web browser and go to https://appsanywhere.mst.edu.
- Login using your SSO credentials.
- Follow the steps of the Validation Troubleshooter if it appears.
- If the Validation Troubleshooter doesn’t appear, click the blue profile icon in the top right corner
- Click “Download the client”.
- Launch the installer after it downloads. It should be named “appsanywhere-setup-[29044e19ba].exe”.
- Enter your admin credentials if prompted.
- After the install completes, return to the browser, and click Retry AppsAnywhere validation if prompted, or select Validate in that profile menu from earlier.
- AppsAnywhere will automatically install Cloudpaging Player in the background.
- After a few moments, attempt to launch an application. If the application launches successfully, congratulations, you have successfully updated AppsAnywhere and Cloudpaging Player.
- If the application does not launch, or if you are unable to get the Validation to work, please try restarting your computer and then retry launching the application.
