What is the IT Status Page?

Having trouble connecting to Joes’SS or PeopleSoft? Is Canvas not loading properly? Make sure to check S&T IT Services and Systems Status page, or more commonly called the IT Status Page, at https://status.mst.edu/ for any and all technology performance issues and outages.

Different icons are used to display the current status of each campus service or system, and definitions of each status can be found at the bottom of this article.

When the status of an IT system or service changes, the system or service and information about the status change will appear at the top of the IT Status Page with a border that matches the color of the related status icon. For example, if a service has a degraded performance status and yellow minus sign icon, the notification is shown at the top of the IT Status Page with a yellow border as shown in the screenshot below.

To better serve our campus community and keep campus better informed when there are status changes in the IT systems and services provided, status icons now appear in the bottom right-hand corner of the footer information on each page of the Missouri S&T website. If you scroll to the bottom of a webpage, you’ll find this:

Please view the screenshots below to see examples of how all of the status icons will appear in the footer. Depending on the severity of an IT systems or service outage, a persistent banner may appear along the bottom of the web browser window when visiting Missouri S&T web pages that will provide more information. Below you will see what the different indicators look like, what the banners look like, and their meaning.

Partial outage: Major issues and or an outage is being experienced by one or more IT systems or services that are considered to be non-essential to the daily operation of campus. A partial outage is anticipated to affect more users on campus depending on the service under repair. A detailed box with the system or service in question will appear at the top of the IT Status Page with the exact issue.

Major outage:  Critical issues and/or an outage is being experienced by one or more IT systems or services that are considered to be essential to the daily operation of campus. A major outage is anticipated to affect most if not all users on campus depending on the service under repair. A detailed box with the system or service in question will appear at the top of the IT Status Page with the exact issue.

Maintenance: One or more IT systems or services are undergoing maintenance. Maintenance on a system or service may be scheduled in response to a situational impact that is preventing the system or service from running at optimal levels.
